Zhicong Xie

Hi, it's Zhicong.

I am a PhD student at The University of Gothenburg, Sweden. My research interest focuses on ecosystem modelling, climate-vegetation interaction, carbon cycle, biogeochemical feedback etc. Using process-oriented modelling, now the projects I am working on are concentrating on these aspects:

1. Site-specific modelling: Study impacts of drought on trees' growth, particularly interested in in carbon sequestration, hydraulic traits and relevant processes within SPA continum (Using CoupModel);
2. Regional modelling: Topics include bridging small and regional scale models, modelling the response to extreme weather events in mixed and monospecific forests, C13 discrimination, WUE changes (Plan to use CoupModel and LPJGUESS);
3. Modelling urban trees: Simulating urban (Gothenburg) trees in future scenarios (includes the integration of greenhouse experiment and satellite data);
